The Fish Farm

Hand‑reared carp, carefully selected and raised for health, character and long‑term quality.

From Farm to Fishery

Every carp in Seymour Fishery has been bred and raised on our own fish farm. This gives us complete control over genetics, health, growth and stocking, ensuring a consistent, high‑quality stock that we know intimately.

Rather than buying in unknown fish, we take the time to rear our own, selecting for frame, scale patterns, colour and long‑term potential.

Why This Matters

Hand‑reared fish mean:

  • Exceptional health and condition
  • Known provenance and history
  • Balanced, sustainable stocking levels
  • Fish that suit the lake, not overwhelm it

Fish Welfare First

Our approach is simple: the fish come first. From water quality and feeding regimes to stocking density and handling rules, every decision is made with long‑term welfare in mind.

This is reflected in the way the fish look, fight and continue to thrive year after year.

Our Approach to Stocking

We stock the lake gradually and responsibly, ensuring the biomass remains healthy and the fish have the space they need to grow. Every stocking decision is based on water quality, natural food levels and long‑term sustainability.

This careful approach is why Seymour Fishery continues to produce strong, healthy carp with exceptional condition and character.
