The Lake
A mature, tree‑lined carp lake in the Somerset countryside, managed with care for both fish and anglers.
A Mature, Character‑Rich Water
Seymour Lake is a peaceful, tree‑lined water with a natural, unforced feel. The margins, overhanging trees and varied depths create an intimate, engaging venue that rewards thoughtful angling and watercraft.
Depths range from shallower margins to deeper central areas, with weed growth in the warmer months providing natural cover and a rich habitat for the carp.

Fishing a Weedy, Natural Venue
Seymour is managed as a natural, characterful lake rather than a manicured commercial water. Weed is present in the warmer months, and we encourage anglers to approach the venue with care, thought and respect for the fish.
Strong tackle, safe rigs and sensible line angles are essential. We recommend taking your time to lead around, find clear spots and present baits confidently rather than rushing to get rods out.
Swims and Layout
The lake is laid out to ensure each angler has water to themselves and the space to fish effectively without pressure. Swims are positioned to make the most of features, patrol routes and natural holding areas.
We are always happy to offer guidance on likely areas, seasonal movements and how the lake is fishing.
